Epcot

On Friday morning, my brother and his wife flew in from St. Louis.  After a breakfast buffet at the Garden Gallery, we all headed over to see Epcot.

The first ride we decided on was the test track.
The sign said a 20 minute wait, so we jumped right in line, figuring we'd get fast passes for Mission:Space and Soarin'.

The wait ended up being TWO hours.
Ridiculous.
The ride itself was fun, but not worth the wait.

After the test track, we went to get fast passes for Mission: Space and for Soarin'.  Unfortunately, Soarin' was already sold out for the day.

For the record, I chickened out on the Mission: Space ride.
After the tenth sign saying if you don't like dark, cramped spaces, you shouldn't ride this ride, I started getting heart palpitations.  When they offered you a barf bag, I headed for the nearest exit.

My brother and his wife, my two sisters, Clyde, Riley, and Cooper stayed on the ride.  They were on the orange team, a more intense training session, where you experience forces up to 2.4G...more than twice the force of the Earth's gravitational pull.

In a small dark box.
Strapped in, with a screen 12 inches from you.
It warns you not to look away or close your eyes as it can disorient you.

After the ride, they told me it felt like your chest was crushing in.  Riley said it was like being stuck to a magnet.

Either way, I think I made the right decision.
Call me a chicken.
Cluck. Cluck.

Next,we saw The Seas, with Nemo and friends.
Cute ride, the little kids really liked it.
Much more my pace. Ha!

We went through Innoventions, which was really neat...and air conditioned, so it was a much needed break.  While we were there, we got a family picture taken with Goofy and Minnie Mouse.  Rowyn and Camdyn were beside themselves with excitement! Cutest thing ever!

We walked though the different lands and ran into this little show.  The neat part?

All the chairs are balanced on wine bottles!
Crazy!

We decided to eat lunch in Italy.
My kids aren't the most adventurous eaters.
So, pizza it was.

After lunch, we rode on a viking ship through Norway.
If you've ever been to Disney, you know that every ride exits into a store.
Marketing at its best.

We figured out later what this strange looking metal globe was for...their Illuminations show.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is a spectacular nightly show filled with pyrotechnics, lasers, fire and fountains on World Showcase Lagoon. Accompanied by dazzling lighting effects projected onto the surrounding pavilions, this award-winning show depicts the history of earth and its people.

Very cool end to our Epcot day.

The boys loved the test track, they went on it over and over again. Thankfully we never had to wait that long though. Ken and Ethan did the barf bag ride, thankfully nick was too short at the time. They only did it once b/c Ken said there was no way in hell he'd do it again. And there was no way in hell I'd even entertain the thought....
