Camdynism

By now, you know my 3-year-old is anything, but boring.
Since the Camdyn Alert has been on elevated status, my parents mentioned taking her to their house some days, to not only give her some one-on-one time, but to also keep me from losing my ever loving mind.
My mom mentioned it to her yesterday.
Camdyn, do you want to come to our house some day while Riley and Cooper are in school?

I can't. I have lots of busy, like picking up toys. Maybe in summer.

For the better part of 1/2 a hour, Camdyn ran circles around the kitchen island, while singing (okay, screaming).
When Mommy could no longer take the noise, I told her that was enough, it was time to settle down.
Her reply?
I can't, my feet are moving too fast! Help, Mommy!

Rowyn and the Roomba

...and from across the room, she spots him.

It doesn't take her long to catch him.

You can just see the determination in her eyes, as she plots her next move.

Poor Roomba never saw it coming...

As she mercilessly rips out his innards.
(and no I didn't let her eat any dirt collected in there...God knows she finds enough crap off the floors :P )

A Little People Day

This is what Camdyn and I did today, played Fisher Price Little People all morning. Even Rowyn partook in the fun, by drooling all over the Walmart man. Camdyn got a little out of control with the dinosaur, he ended up smashing the whole town into oblivion. It happens, you know.

After uploading the pictures off my camera, I found this one of Lumptastic all decked out for snow fun. It was dated 2/21, and since I was working that day and her Daddy was in Rochester, MN, it must have been taken by Aunt Megs. Am I right? Oh, and Lori O...if you're reading, was this snowsuit Natalie's? I got it from Abby K when she used to work at the hell hole with us. :P

New Kicks

Rowyn's new kicks arrived yesterday from the Umi Shoes contest we won the other day. She got the Puggle in Rose/Pink. They're all leather, very soft, and super easy to get on. We're very happy...and guess what, my mom won a pair today! Hope you signed up for your chance to win!

Toilets and Chicken Pox

I've been giving some serious thought to putting a potty chair out on the deck. My daughter managed to clog the toilet twice in two days...and don't forget the plastic cup fiasco. Tuesday she announced that Cooper had put Bath and Body Works lotion down the toilet. Yes, bottle and all. Never mind the fact that Cooper was in school during the time of the crime. Clyde had to remove the toilet once again, I'm thinking of buying stock in those wax rings we have to keep buying. Yesterday was the roll of toilet paper, which thankfully, I was able to plunge. I tried to explain to her that unless her butt is ginormous, there is no need for that much toilet paper.

Cooper came home from school with a letter from the bus driver, he's been given assigned seating for 4 weeks for "slapping hands and changing seats". Riley was all too happy to report this to me the second she walked through the door.

Rowyn is cutting the mate to the tooth that came through last week. I don't know if that's what is waking her up several times a night or what, but Mommy is tired!

Riley lost tooth number 3 yesterday and when I got home from work last night, she had to give me the play-by-play on how she lost it. Tooth Fairy came and left some green...all is good in a 7-year-old's life.

Camdyn and I had quite the conversation prior to my leaving for work. She took her sock off and noticed the indentations it had made on her foot:

Look, Mommy!

Yes, honey, it's marks from your sock.

No it isn't, it's Chicken Pox!

Etsy Again

Yes, I've been browsing Etsy again and this time I found something that my son would kill for.

This Indiana Jones Lego shirt from Kimsstichintime. Her shop states she also offers, Lego Star Wars (Princess Leia, Jedi and Chewy) and Lego Batman. She'll even add a name for no additional charge. I'm pretty sure Cooper wants a Star Wars birthday this summer, so the Lego Jedi will probably be our next purchase.

Umi Shoes

Riley had a pair of Umi shoes, they were brown with contrasting pink stitching and we both loved them. She wore them all the time, really. They held up and we've now passed them on to Camdyn. I was on their website checking out their spring line and realized they now make pre-walker shoes, which are oh so cute. On the homepage, I noticed it said to sign up for their newsletter and you are automatically signed up for their 'pram-a-day' contest.

Guess what? I freaking won! I got an email today from them! Rowyn will be getting her first pair of Umi Prams in the mail shortly. I'll, of course, follow up with pictures once they're here! Yeah Umi!! So, follow my link up top and sign up, it's only through the month of February, I believe.

Rowyn's 1st Valentine's Day

Sweet Jesus, who shut out the lights?
What's going on here?
Where am I? Yeah, I did it! Again, again!!

Homemade Cards

Grammy's homemade Valentine's Day cards 2009

~Riley's~

~Cooper's~

~Camdyn's~

~Rowyn's~
And the cookies we baked for Riley's class.

Friday, February 13, 2009

Well, we got our heart cookies baked, decorated, and sent off with Riley this morning (I'll post pics later). Both she and Cooper are having their parties at school today. I really wanted to make homemade Valentine's cards like we did when I was little, but we ran out of time and since I found them for $1, I couldn't complain.

I just finished making the kids Sweetie Pies...and I've already sampled one, of course. I had to laugh, I put them in the oven and couldn't figure out why it smelled like a candle burning. I finally figured out the source was the oven, I had inadvertently put them on waxed paper instead of parchment paper. That was brilliant. So I managed to get them switched over without much effort. The brunette had a blonde moment.

Camdyn woke us up in the middle of the night last night. Poor kid had thrown up on herself, her bed, and her floor. We got things cleaned up the best we could while still half asleep. Finally put her back down, I got back in bed with Rowyn, and Clyde was by then wide awake, so he went out and watched t.v. until 4am. She's completely back to normal today, talk about kids being resilient. We watched Wall-E this morning, which I have to admit was pretty cute. Afterwards, we put all the laundry away and while I was putting Cooper and Rowyn's things away, Camdyn surprised me by cleaning up her room. She even went so far as to organize her exorbitant amount of shoes!

I have sugar cookie dough made, which will chill until Riley and I make heart cookies later for her class. The laundry is completely caught up. No one has called me Poopy Head today. The sun is shining and I can only see one small lingering pile of snow. There is a pork loin in the crockpot smelling rather good. I 'm watching HGTV and no one is interrupting me. All Valentine's are finished for school parties tomorrow. Rowyn is taking a much needed nap and Camdyn is taking a snoozie (quiet time for her, mental health time for Mommy). I love days like today. =)

The only thing that would make it any better, would be some Betty Jane caramels and a vanilla latte sitting on the computer desk next to me as I type.

100 Days

It was Cooper's 100 day celebration today. He had to wear 100 things on his shirt, so I found some foam dinosaur stickers to adorn his DC shoes shirt.

Camdyn dug out the old collapsible dog kennel and found her way in it. Wait, why didn't I ever come up with this idea?

Kidding, kidding. ;)

This morning I heard Camdyn in the play room with the Fisher Price Little People, having quite the conversation:

"Don't say that!"
"Shut your mouth up or I'll fro you out the window!"
"No, I'll throw you!"
"No, me!"...followed by some racket that was obviously someone on the losing end of the battle, flying out the window.

Now she is in the bathroom washing Dress and Dance Dora's hands with antibacterial Softsoap. I'm not sure if she had a hand in the whole fisher price tragedy or what.

Baby on the move.
Rowyn has decided crawling is much too slow. She uses anything and everything as a walker to get around the house.

And Lumpy caught red-handed trying to smash Rowyn's hand in the activity table.

Somewhere, this craft/mud/laundry room can be found in the surely amazing home of someone. I love this room. It has the locker/cubby area I want. It has a space for crafts. It has space for folding. It has 2 washers and 2 dryers. It has oodles of storage and from the looks of it, there is a walk-in pantry in the back. I'm green with envy...just like the cabinets.
After working at getting puke out of our Microfiber cushions for hours, I needed a little distraction. While perusing Urban Outfitters, I came across just what I needed.

The perfect personalized gift for the one you love.

A séance for stoners...and you know you that's got to be one interesting game. Or what you can remember of it. ;)

Which is more offensive, the kid pissing rum or the personalized slut glass? :P

They actually do have some really cute stuff at UO, I found a cute chandelier I want and some bird dishes and throw pillows I could go for. There was a cupcake cookie jar that would be perfect for a cupcake themed party. So check them out...see if you find anything that breaks up the monotony of the day.

Came across these this morning and they were too cute not to share. They are paper toys from The Toymaker and guess what...they're FREE! The only downside is my printer is not so fabulous and it keeps telling me I'm out of some color ink. I was thinking of making a few of these and hanging them at varying heights from Cooper's ceiling. Anyway, looks like a fun craft to do with the wee folk.

Camdyn in her Valentine coat and hat from Aldi's of all places!

My mom watched the kids for me until their Dad got home from work. She always has an interesting story to tell about her time here. Tonight this is what she emailed me:

Forgot to tell you that while I was feeding Rowyn in the kitchen, I could hear Camdyn at the computer. I told her to leave it alone because she didn't know what she was doing, and she said, "Yes I do. I'm finding Dora and it's Dora Dora dot commy"!

She doesn't seem to lack confidence...

Oh, Dixie

This weekend Clyde noticed the toilet in the kids bathroom wasn't flushing very well. Initially we thought Cooper had overdone the toilet paper...he has a history of such. While in the midst of blaming him, his younger sister (guess which one) announced, "I put a cup in there." Now this may not have been quite as bad had my husband not gotten the fancy plastic dixie cups this time around instead of paper. Well, Clyde plunged that puppy to no avail, so we borrowed 'the snake' from my dad. If you don't know what that is, it's a long coiled metal tube that is designed to clear out the pipe by forcing the crap (pun intended) down. That didn't work either. So, we eventually were left no option but to pull the toilet off. Sure enough, stuck quite well in the trap was a little white plastic dixie cup.

I mentioned before how Riley has some new difficult spelling lists to challenge her and keep her interested. The words have not been easy, especially for a first grader. These were her words last week. I don't even know if her dad can spell astronaut correctly. Haha. Anyway, she's doing awesome and we're so proud of her! She still meets every Wednesday during lunch for Math Club and she just signed up for an after school program that will show how science can be fun...she's very excited!

If you haven't seen Amy Atlas then you simply must check out her portfolio. She is the dessert table designer...seriously, I would love her to help plan a party. Just look how cute a Valentine's Day party would be! Anyway, maybe you could use her for some inspiration of your own. Bookmark her site.

Rowyn and the Dora Doodle

Mwwwah!

Sunday, February 01, 2009

I found this website the other day Spoonsisters and thought I'd share the link. Cute stuff! The kids picked out quite a bit to put on a wish list. Here were the two front runners for Cooper:

A toothpick truck that really moves on rubber wheels.
Construction utensils...just what a digger man in training needs.
