Binky

Yes, that is a binky.  We're not sure where he found it, since Rowyn doesn't use them anymore, but he did...and apparently, he's quite fond of it. I found him like this in his favorite hiding spot, on top of the puzzles.

Thanksgiving 2010

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
We did.
The only thing that could have made it better, would have been if all our family could have shared it together.

I caught Rowyn demonstrating the proper way to play the "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" song.

Thank you, Mom, for another amazing Thanksgiving!

Chores and Chalk

We finished our chalkboard wall last week.  The chore list now resides at the top, so far it's been working like a charm.

Pinkalicious

We finished painting Camdyn and Rowyn's room this weekend.  Camdyn wanted pink...and pink she got.  It's a little much for my taste, but I'll live with it.  Daddy made a bookcase for their room and another for Riley's.  He used the plans from Ana-White...that girl is amazing!  The bookcase is so sturdy, the plans were easy to follow, and they hold a ton of books.  Daddy did a great job on them...he has some happy little girls!

Mom's Camera

Yesterday, my mom sent me the Picasa link for the pictures on her camera...it had Riley's birthday, Halloween, the Veteran's Day program...and this.

It took me a minute to figure out why my Dad looked so annoyed.

The angle of the picture and his hand reaching out clearly indicates someone had crept into my parents living room and was planning on practicing her photography until Papa put the kibosh to that.

BUSTED!

Veteran's Day Program

Riley's school had a Veteran's Day program yesterday.  Riley has been talking about it for quite some time and was sure to invite her Papa, a Vietnam vet.  Her Grammy, Mommy, Daddy, and littlest sister also went to watch.

Riley and a few other 3rd grade students singing...she's a tall one, that girl.

Riley and her Papa after the show.

Happy Veteran's Day to you, Dad, and to all the men and women who fought for freedom and democracy...and to those still fighting today.  Thank you.

The Joker

We went to Timmerman's for brunch on Sunday, to celebrate my Mom's birthday.  We were seated near the window overlooking the bluff, a beautiful view and the kids were penned in.  Buffets are nice with little kids, there is no waiting to place an order..just instant gratification, which means everyone was happy, behaving, and quiet.  When Rowyn finished, she climbed on the floor under the table and played peek-a-boo with everyone.  Yes she was on the floor...yes, it was probably dirty, but if she's quiet and not running all over the place, I'll get over it.  That's what hand sanitizers are for.
Five adults at the table, distracted in conversation, and one unattended purse equals one beauty school dropout armed with lipstick.  Funny thing is, she wasn't that out of place.  Timmerman's draws a geriatric crowd and she fit right in with some of those biddies.

A Fashion Show

Last night we were invited to a fashion show.

The stage, complete with curtain and lights.

Here come the models...cue the music

Work it, girls!

Spinning, shaking, dancing, and OH the fashion!

Waving to her fans...
And behind the scenes, who orchestrated the show, ran the music, and developed the set...Riley, girl wonder, who will surely die if she finds out I posted this! Haha!

Nella: A Birth Story

Without a doubt, the most amazing birth story I have ever read.  It is inspirational, it is emotional, and it is a testament to a Mother's love.

Halloween 2010

Halloween, Halloween, Trick or Treat, our costumes can't be beat.

That's from Dora's Halloween episode...and if I never have to watch it again, it will be too soon.

We recycled all our costumes this year, the only one upset was Camdyn who was holding out for Velma.  The Velma costume was a rip off and I think Sully suits her much better.

And one very serious skunk...
