Tashi

Tashi pretending to be invisible.

Awoken by my camera, she diligently begins her cleaning process. I wish my kids were so good about washing their hands.

Now I could use a cat nap.

Do as I say, not as I do

I was watching House Hunters last night, you know the show where they show three homes they are interested in buying and then at the end, they show which one they ultimately chose. Well, I didn't agree with their decision, so I said,
"That's stupid."

Without missing a beat, Camdyn yelled from across the room,
"MOM, we've talked about this before!"

Indeed we have. Talk about ears like a hawk. Of course, had I told her to go pick up the toy room, she wouldn't have heard a thing.

Today, Lumpy dressed her life-size Barbie doll.

Wednesday at Goodwill

Yesterday's treasures from Goodwill; a milk glass vase and four luncheon plates, a cute turquoise dish, a round wooden frame I'm going to paint for Riley's room, and the little old woman that lived at Goodwill.

It's a framed vintage print from Louis F. Dow Co, St. Louis. There's something that drew me to her. My husband, of course, took one look at her and announced I've finally lost it.

Valentine Time

The kids and I made Valentine's for them to take to school this past week.

Cooper and Riley made Tootsie Pop flowers. About three flowers in, Cooper asked if I would just make the rest, because he was bored. Such a boy.

Camdyn and I made the classic potato stamp hearts. She was all about the glitter.

Hello crazy cupid on her sister's tricycle.

Chips

Camdyn saw these recently in a catalog and announced she needed them. Lumpy has good taste, no?

The boots have nothing to do with my story, but I couldn't resist.

I'll let you in on a little secret, Camdyn is not a child driven by sweets. She is a chipoholic. Cheetos, Doritos, Pringles, they're what matters most in her little 4-year-old world. Yes, I the terrible Mommy allow her to indulge from time to time.

Yesterday, after stopping to see my grandmother in the nursing home (and for those on Facebook...after the whole teeth ordeal), we stopped at the Dollar Tree to pick a few things up. Camdyn picked out a pack of Stax chips, so of course, I bribed her to behave and then she could get them.

When we left the store, we headed over to get Riley from Brownies. I ran in to get her and Clyde and the others stayed in the car. When we got back, Camdyn was just sobbing.

Clyde told me she had hit Cooper and he told her that was it, no chips for her, he was giving them to Cooper.

Her response?
No, No, please Daddy, spank me instead! Don't give him my chips!

Now that is a true chipoholic.

Down East Basics

I stumbled upon this website the other day and had to share. The stuff is cute + inexpensive = bliss. I, like so many others, am crushing on ruffles right now and they have plenty of them. They also sell girls clothes, which everyone knows is a weakness of mine. So check them out!

Storybook Cottage

We built a loft area in the basement for the kids, so I've been searching for inspiration on how to paint it. I came across THIS website and it became very clear my children will not know the beauty of this cottage. I'm quite certain my painting ability (or lack there of) will end up looking like a 3-year-old let loose with finger paints. The artist, Christie Morris, is clearly amazing. What an attention to detail!
