Jumpin' Jane's

Riley and her Daisy Scouts had their end of the year party at Jumpin' Jane's and siblings were invited, as well. Riley had a wonderful experience in Daisy Scouts and I hope she'll do it again next year. She had an awesome leader, Nicole, who was great with the girls; fun, kind, creative, outgoing, engaging.

Olivia, Riley, and Camdyn with her usual wonderful smile.

Weeeeee!!

Toot, toot, chugga, chugga, big pink car.
Look Mom, no hands!

Riley and Olivia again.
Notice Brecker the Wrecker sans her two front teeth!

Cooper's Big K Graduation

Wow, nice picture Lump.

Just gets better...

Getting into his part.

Move over 1st grade...here comes Cooper Flynn!

Cooper with his teacher Mrs. Young. Love her!

Portrait Innovations -- Take 1

I scheduled an appointment with Portrait Innovations for Rowyn to get her 1st birthday pictures taken. I bought her a special outfit, fixed her hair, and I was just putting my shoes on to head out the door.
Then I heard a scream.
I found her in the toy room, with blood dripping from her lip...all over her outfit.
No Camdyn wasn't guilty, this time anyway. Rowyn was pushing the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine and it slid out from her and she pushed her new front teeth through her bottom lip.
Unbelievable. So, pictures were rescheduled for Thursday.

The Flaming Fireballs

Cooper's first year of AYSO...and his first win.
Yeah, not quite how the goalie works, but whatever.

Soccer

Riley and Cooper started their first year of AYSO this week. Riley is yellow and black and they've decided on the team name, "Hawkeyes". Cooper is orange and black and his team name is "The Flaming Fireballs". My mom made them each a card for their soccer debut...and they were too cute not to share.

Riley's first game was last night (which I missed because I was working) and she scored the first goal of the season!

The Animals

That's Aunt Judy. She's in her 70's, but you'd never guess it to see her climb those fences! She's feeding a 10-day-old calf.

Jack the Jackass again. Not a nice boy.

One of the twin bulls

...and his brother.

The Farm Continued...

Meet Jack. Jack wasn't very welcoming, in fact, he charged at us, hee-hawing, nostrils flaring, and scared the Holy BeJesus out of the kids (and mom).

The farm had all kinds of old tractors, the kids each took turns "driving" them.

Got Milk?

A Day on the Farm

We went to Hanover today to visit Clyde's mom's grave and to stop and see the calves at his aunt Judy's farm.

The kids got to feed the calves their bottles. To say they were excited would be an understatement.

Sleepy Time Girl

Camdyn was in the kitchen eating a fruit snack. When we could no longer hear her, we decided we'd better check on her.
There, we found her on the stool.

fast asleep.

(her black nail is courtesy of her slamming it in the door in the other day)

Mother's Day

Camdyn and I were in the living room when she yelled, "Ducks!"...I looked out the window to see a mom leading her ducklings through our yard. I think Mrs. Duck needs to share her secret for keeping her babies in line. God knows mine are all over the place anytime we go out.

Hydrant Flushing

They flushed the hydrant today out in front of our house...two little girls were mesmerized.

Starbucks Via

My sister brought these with her when we were in St. Louis, and until then I had never tried them. I'm hooked! Easy peasy, lemon squeezy to make coffee on the go. Add the packet to 8 oz of hot water and you're good to go. I generally use them at work, where the doctors tend to make water with a hint of coffee.

Riley asked me last night if this means we won't be able to eat bacon on Sunday for breakfast. I reassured her that she won't be getting Swine Flu from eating pork and then broke it to her that the bacon we eat is turkey anyway.

If you find the picture humorous, as I did, you can buy it on a shirt HERE.

Send me down a candy bar!

Perhaps only my siblings and Mom will really get this post, but growing up, my Dad always had stories or sayings he would tell us. I've learned from his former students, that he wasn't much different at school, he had his 'Monk Stories' which I wish he would put to paper.

At home, we learned what two bits was, what a stereoscope is, and what you do with a mouth organ. We learned to never stick your finger in the finger trap. We learned when you're really hungry, you should sing a little ditty.

I'm as hungry as a hog, I could eat fried rice, seaweed, or a dirty hot dog.

We learned about the naughty little boy that painted the fire engine black, although, I'm pretty sure at different times it was a naughty little girl and even a naughty little bunny once.

My dad hasn't changed, he still tells his stories and it actually makes me happy that my kids are now learning the craziness that is their grandfather. Today I witnessed a prime example. Camdyn was outside on her swing set when an airplane flew by. Several seconds later I heard her yelling something I myself yelled to airplanes as a child, thanks to dear old Dad.

Send me down a candy bar! Send me down a candy bar! Send me down a candy bar!

Thank you, Dad, for your quirkiness, for your stories, for being able to embarrass Mom every time you go to the grocery store together.

The night was dark, the night was blue.
Around the corner, a shit wagon flew.
It hit a bump, a scream was heard.
A man was killed by a flying turd.

Monday Morning

Monday started off interestingly enough today.

It was time for the kids to leave to get on the bus, Riley was ready, but Cooper was no where to be found. Clyde yelled for Cooper to hurry up. No one was ready for the response.

I'm changing my underwear!

Cooper, why are you changing your underwear?

Because I farted and it turned my underwear green!

So, on his way out, I informed him that any toots at school had better be done in the restroom...just as a precautionary measure. Seriously, what is that boy eating?

Climbing

Today my husband found Rowyn standing on the table in the toy room. She climbed on the chair and then onto the table, where she nearly gave her father heart failure. If that wasn't enough, Clyde called me at work tonight...

Guess where I just found your youngest?

No idea, where?

Standing on Cooper's bed, looking over the edge, while bouncing up and down with a big grin on her face. She apparently used Cooper's dump truck as a stepping stool.

Someone needs to tell Rowyn she's 10-months-old and climbing will not be accepted. Next thing I know she'll be climbing the ladder on the bunk bed.

Money maker

Shake, shake, shake your money maker
Took your Momma nine months to make ya
Might as well shake what your Momma gave ya...
Even though she didn't put together that getup. Wow.

Easter

Easter egg hunt at Grammy's house. Eggs filled with coins and candy. Fun times!

Baby Rowyn's 1st Easter

Mom made ham, asparagus, sweet potatoes, baby reds, tossed salad with strawberries and almonds, jello for the kids, and relishes. Dessert was cupcakes and my personal favorite, homemade cheesecake.
Cooper felt the need to skateboard in his Easter clothes and of course, fell and blew a hole in the knee of his pants.
Camdyn was busted throwing walnuts at the goldfish in Grandpa's pond.
We missed everyone that couldn't be there. Hope you all had a Happy Easter!

The Cake

Camdyn spent most of today planning her birthday. She made herself a card, picked out her outfit, and made herself a few birthday cakes with her plastic play food and some various toys. Never mind the fact her birthday isn't until December.

I had to work, so my parents came out to the house to babysit. As I was leaving, Camdyn had decided to 'bake' her cakes in the oven. Since the oven wasn't on and my mom was supervising, she let her put them in the oven.

It was around 6pm when I got the call at work.

Clyde had decided to make garlic bread to go with the spaghetti he made for dinner.

Camdyn got her cake baked after all.
