The new Mini Boden catalog came the other day and I sat there circling everything I wanted, just like I did as a child with the toy catalog. I could stock every closet in the house with Boden and nothing but Boden. Really.

Polly, Ponies, and Playmobil
Camdyn was playing very quietly in her room, so Rowyn and I went to investigate. She had a party going on at the Playmobil cottage...everybody who is anybody was there.
Polly, Cinderella's horse-less coach, and vrooming noises her brother taught her. I sat and watched them play for quite some time and marveled at their imaginations.
At one point I heard Camdyn having a conversation between two Polly girls:
What's your name?
I don't have a name.
You don't have a name? I'm sorry. It's okay though, because you sparkle.
My name's not Sparkle.
Okay, I'll just call you Shoe.
Okay. Let's go!

Valentine's Day Decorating
I've begun decorating the mantel. Apparently, The Cat in the Hat donates to Goodwill, because that is where I found the candlestick holders. The clock I found there, as well. I had the gold frame and the image I printed off the internet. I made the topiary from felt, an idea I found at The Idea Room. I made the heart garland with directions from Martha, and the wreath I made thanks to inspiration from Simple Sage Designs.
I have a few more crafts to make, but I'm excited I've spent hardly anything on decorations this year...and since money is tight, that's a good thing.
Squid Dogs
I made squid dogs for dinner the other night, a recipe I found in Family Fun magazine. The kids had fun figuring out how I got the spaghetti inside the hot dog. Cooper thought I cooked them each and then shoved the spaghetti in, Camdyn thought the spaghetti crawled in while they were cooking, and Riley guessed correctly.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
Recently, we watched the movie Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, it was a cute movie and the kids really enjoyed it. What a neat idea this would have been for a dessert that night! Spaghetti and Meatball cupcakes, an ingenious idea from Hello, Cupcake.
The meatballs are chocolate Ferrero Rocher candy, the spaghetti sauce is seedless raspberry jelly, the spaghetti is vanilla icing piped using a narrow decorator tip, and the parmesan cheese is shaved white chocolate. Cute! I'm going to have to try them.

Dishes and Owls
Recently, while window shopping for Valentine's dishes, I came across Rosanna and added one of everything on the site into my shopping bag. The colors, the styles, the details... *sigh*...a girl can dream, right?
Today I found this Night Owl Pajama Party and well, you have to see for yourself. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
I see she used Rosanna birthday dishes. Up until recently, I'd never heard of them, and now I've seen them twice in two days. Maybe it's a sign? Maybe I'll find a set of them on one of my Goodwill treasure hunts? Like I said, a girl can dream. ;)

First Day
Today was Camdyn's first day at Res, she was so excited she could hardly contain herself. She at most ate one bite of cereal this morning, and then was ready to go. Clyde dropped her off on his way to work and he said she was a little apprehensive at first, but no tears were shed.
He picked her up on his way home for lunch and he said he asked the teacher how she did. The teacher told him, "She did fine."
What does that mean? She really was fine or is that the polite way to say, "Your daughter is clearly going to be a Holy terror."
I know, I know, I'm a terrible Mom for even questioning that. Why do I have to read into everything. I need to cut Lump some slack.
Camdyn told me she made penguins and snowmen today. She said they played in the gym and that they have a lot of toys. She told me they sang songs (but then went on to say she didn't sing) and celebrated someone's birthday. She also told me she met a little girl and that she invited her to come to her house sometime...which per Lump is far, far away.
It was a good first day and Camdyn can't wait until Thursday!

Preschool
It's official, Lumpy will be starting Preschool tomorrow. She's going 2 days per week to start, from 8 am to 11 am. She is ecstatic. No really, ever since we told her the news this morning, she's been busy packing her backpack.
I'm excited for her, I love seeing her so happy...but at the same time, I'm nervous! I really hope the school setting is just what she needs. I hope she has fun, makes friends, learns new things, and I hope I don't get a call from the teacher 20 minutes into her first day.

The last one is Camdyn around 22 months, in the same set.

Storage Chairs
The kids need a new table and chair set for the toy room and since I haven't gotten to IKEA, I've been searching the internet for something similar. I found these at the Land of Nod, but since $69 a chair is too rich for my blood, I had to find an alternative. I found directions to make a knock off of these chairs at Knockoffwood and if my husband even tries to tell me he can't make them, I'm going to point out knockoffwood is run by a WOMAN. Her name is Ana and clearly, she's an amazing carpenter.
So, I expect to see four chairs in my toy room by summer...right after he puts the knobs on the closet doors. (I've only been waiting 6 six years for those)

Heart Bokeh?
My mom sent me a link with a tutorial on how to change your Christmas lights into hearts, stars, anything your little mind can think up. It's found HERE and very easy to follow. My biggest issue was the terrible lighting in my living room.
Hello Rat King...and hello my new heart-shaped Christmas lights!
Cool, right?!
